Rushikesh rosarian opens its doors in 1966 as N.A. Joshi rose garden.

N. A. Joshi devoted himself to his hobby of producing rose plants by his own polybag method for his love of roses. His method is known as N.A. Joshi polybag method. His invention is wholly original owing nothing whatsoever to the example or suggestion of any other individual whether Indian / foreign. In 1982 for his polybag method invention he has honored with Parkhe Industrial merit award sponsored by the Maratha chamber of commerce and industries, Pune. He is also honored with I.R.F. and Rose Society of Pune Gold medals. His polybag method sparked a rose revolution. Hundreds of nurserymen and thousands of rose growers are enjoying the benefit of his invention.

He happens to be only participant and the only delegate from India to the 6th and 7th world rose conventions held at Baden Baden, West Germany (1983) and Toronto, Canada. On the occasion of 6th world rose convention he had the honor of being a member of the judging team comprising world’s top most rosarians.

His lectures and screening of his polybag film were highly appreciated both at Royal botanical garden and Royal Horticulture school, Niagara.

On the 24th Feb. 1991 he celebrated the silver jubilee of his polybag invention. A souvenir giving all information about his polybag was published on this occasion. Since then he has devoted himself to promotion and popularization his polybag method through his N. A. Joshi polybag promotion center.

Recently a couple of new Indian roses have been named as ‘polybag Joshi’ (by Mr. C.R. Chipalunkar, ichalkaranji, Maharashtra) and ‘N. A. Joshi’ (sport finder Mr. J.D. Gokhale, Indore) in honor of his polybag methods invention.

Following Mr. Joshi’s foots tape Mr. Maharudra Sherikar in his early stage of life took interest in rose and plants. From onwards next three decades through his enthusiasm and example Mr. Sherikar would elevate the nursery trade. He would set new standards for commercial horticulture. He would also become one of the few people honored in Pune rose society.
